I don't feel particularly festive this year, I think December has been a bit weird really.  Our work Christmas Party was on the 29th November, so the Christmas period started fairly early, and since then its been pretty much work work work. You can see what Christmas does to everyone in catering- everybody's looking thin and knackered.

I'm enjoying having actual snow though, we never get snow this thick in Manchester, particularly not in December.  I'm pretty sure the snow's still going to be on the ground on Christmas Day, making this the first white Christmas I can remember. I'm not sure if I've ever had a white Christmas before, actually. Not in Levenshulme definitely.  Sunday me and Florence were working a 12-4 and then a 7:30-11:30 in Alderley Edge so we walked down to this posh pub place called The Merlin for dinner, and the snow was even thicker because its in the countryside. We had a really lovely time.
That night we were working at the Manchester United staff party, so Sir Alex Fergusson was there. I was silver serving him his veg, and he asked for more brussel sprouts because 'not having enough brussel sprouts is against his religion' in his thick Scottish accent. Its a bit surreal really, but he's been at dinners I've worked several times now.

Going out for Liam's 19th tonight, looking forward to it. Starting off with pre drinks at Hayley's flat now everyone else living there has gone back home for Christmas, then off to 42s. Not been to 42s since my birthday.
Then tomorrow I have to go to Alderley Edge again, but its not a Christmas party/dinner this time, its a wake for a funeral. Makes a change, I suppose.  Then I have Christmas Eve off, going rround to Becky's as usual, and Christmas Day I keep being offered work but I don't really fancy it this year. Its the first year in ages where its just the 4 of us for Christmas Dinner so I want to be there.

If you broke a mirror, would you worry about bad luck even if you're not superstitious? Would you walk under a ladder or cross a black cat's path on a dare? Is there anything you're superstitious about?

Everyone's left me for uni now, even Becky. Well, not Sally and Liz who are still in Manchester.  I'm on my second week working full time, I've been at Wythenshawe Hall in the cafe run by the council there.  During the week its ridiculously quiet, we took 24 quid yesterday.  The wage is good though, 6.50 an hour. Not complaining.  I'm getting to know all the people there, the people who work in the park office, the park patrol guys and the community support police guys.  Not sure if the cafe is going to stay open over winter though, seeing as we're taking so little each day.
The worst bit is having to get there for 10, I have to get two busses and I'm just not used to waking up so early.  Most of the shifts I did during summer were afternoon/evening shifts at the Alderly Hotel, so its been a bit of a shock and I've just been knackered for the last two weeks.  It'll be fine once I'm used to it
I'm looking forward to first pay day though, obviously.

I'm going to see Becky this weekend in Huddersfield.  I'm looking forward to seeing her a lot.

I got in to Nottingham university with the ABB I needed, A in politics and Bs in maths and geography. I'm really chuffed, but now I've got to actually do something about saving and planning for this year out.  I have to go and see the bank tomorrow and then sort out my phone bill and job hunt.
I'm also really excited about going to Italy at the end of October with my parents and maybe Becky. We're driving there, going through the channel tunnel, then through France and Switzerland. This year has been amazing for travelling, we never went abroad when me and Corin were younger, just places around the UK, and this year I've been Tenerife and France and now Italy and I get to see Switzerland as well.
Talking about France, Paris was AMAZING. It is seriously the most beautiful city I've ever seen. The architecture is stunning, the eiffel tower of course was great, particularly at night, the arc de triomphe was amazing. And the weather was wonderful, it Manchester the temperature has been struggling around 20 degrees for most of August and it Paris it was closer to 30 everyday. It only rained on our final night.

I'm very excited, me, Becky and Sally are off to Paris tomorrow morning. I'm pretty much all packed, can't wait.  This is my first holiday without any adults, first trip to Paris. I went to France on a day trip with high school and I did the French Exchange as well but thats not quite the same.

At the same time, I'm very nervous about tomorrow because its results day. These are the big results- they decide if I get to go to the university of my choice or not. No resitting this time.  I'm not necessarily worried about doing badly, but I need ABB to get into Nottingham and I could easily have dropped a grade in politics and geography. Hopefully, if I get BBB or ABC they'll still let me in- I just really hope I haven't got BBC or something. I don't feel too bad about maths as I got Bs in all the other modules so I have quite a few spare marks to pull up any modules I didn't do so well in in June.
Results come online at 6.00am, our flight is at 7.30am, so we have an hour and a half to find someway of checking them in the airport.  I've never been this nervous about a results day before.

Monday night was good, if a little blurry.  Big night for me! I had a lot more to drink then I'd planned because drinks were just so cheap at Opus- 90p for a single vodka diet coke, 1.80 for a double.  Usually a single is like 2 pounds, depending where we go.

I;ve officially deferred my university entry now, so I don't think I can put off writing my CV and getting a proper job much longer.  I'm trying to tidy up my CV, but the whole agency thing is complicated to explain in a short space. Technically, I;ve had 4 jobs but as they're all the same there's no use writing about all of them in full, but there are little bits I want to mention about Verve and Citirecruit even though I haven't done a lot of shifts for them. Eurgh. I think I'll probably get Chris Bullock and Chris Bean to be my references.

Talking of Chris Bullock, (works in the Blue Arrow office, last person left from the Gilds office team) he's got swine flu apparently, he's been off for over a week and its horrible because he's the only one dealing with waiting shifts in the office so there is noticeably less work available.

Its been a long weekend. I turned 18 on Friday and went out to Font for cheap cocktails, then to this really nice place called Obsidean which does fancy cocktails. My brother got me one, it was really nice. Then we all went to 42s, had a really good night.  Didn't get IDed once, which I was not impressed about!
I then worked a ten hour shift the next day with a hang over and I'd only had 3 hours sleep, then yesterday worked 9 hours at an Asian wedding. Chris Bean drove me and Corin home. Corin got out of the car, and realised he'd locked himself out of his house so he came and stayed at home instead. It was so funny.
Corin broke up with his girlfriend, Andreea, on Friday.  She's gone away to give him some space as they are living together at the minute and will be for another year at least, and then he's going to South Africa next week to see some of our family.  He turns 20 on Wednesday. Scaary

I'm going out tonight, to Opus. I'm looking forward to it, even though I'm going to have to get a taxi home.

When was the last time you stayed up all night? What were you doing?

Last time was when I had a party at mine, Hebe had gone to bed before me and she threw up on my bed so I couldn't sleep on it. After leaving an angry note, I had to climb into bed with Liam but that was uncomfortable as I wanted to roll over but I did NOT want to end up spooning with him so I gave in and sat around downstairs/outside smoking by myself trying to sober up.

Anyways, I'm finally back working. Yesterday I did the Take That gig, working on a hot dog stand, and today I was doing a prom at Duckingfield.  As much as I'm looking forward to pay day, I know I'm going to be emergency taxed like a bitch because I now technically have three jobs, and blah blah blah I don't really understand tax and stuff. No one ever really explains it to you at school or anything.

I finished my exams today, wahey! They went okay, I got to talk to the fit invigilator over cigarettes during my supervised lunch and my parents took me to Wagamamas today to celebrate.
I've also had time to sign up with Blue Arrow (aka Gilds) and Citirecruit (aka Chris Bean), so now everything is sorted out and I can do what I want for the rest of summer. Possibly a whole year, if I take a year out.

Good times. Going to a charity fundraiser for Lizzy tonight and she's having a massive sleepover at her house, looking forward to it.
After that I finally get to sleeeeeep, I haven't slept properly all week.

Apparently there is a really hot invigilator, I haven't had him yet. Still, I have exams tomorrow, Thursday and Fridday to see him.

Argh I'm actually really nervous about tomorrow and my 3 exams that affect whether I get into university or not.  I feel jittery. Its either nerves or the fact I've only had one cigarette today, but I think nerves.

Not looking forward to the next 5 days, exams exams exams. Wednesday I'm supposed to have 4, but I'm having one the next day because there is simply not enough hours in the college day for me to do them all. I still have 5 hours of essay exams that day though. And then my last exam on Friday and I'm done with college forever.

Gilds got bought out by Blue Arrow so I have a job again. Pretty chuffed about that, and Chris Bean has set up his own 'prestige' agency so I'm going to work for him as well as I said at the start of this whole shebang that I would stick with him no matter what happens.

Now I should probably go to bed as I'm going to central library with Kenzie and Bradley tomorrow to revise. Politics of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and statistics 2 here I come!
Comparative UK/US Politics will have to wait till Tuesday and no idea when I'm going to revise for the geography synoptic. Eurgh I hate the Cairngorms already, I wish I didn't have to resit it.
